Dr. Patrick Ymele-Leki was an invited speaker at the 2019 AfroBiotech Conference, which took place on October 27-29 in Atlanta, GA.
He introduced the diverse breadth of scientific research undertaken by chemical engineering faculty and students at Howard University and presented BEDD lab’s work on the PTS system and Vibrio cholerae biofilms.
The inaugural AfroBiotech Conference, hosted by the Society for Biological Engineering, highlighted the achievements of African Americans in biotechnology and aimed to inspire a new generation of diverse biotechnology professionals and identify, communicate, and explore current advancements in various aspects of Biotechnology.
